Reliable IT Support for East Bay Small Businesses
Networks, security, backups and Microsoft 365, handled by a San Pablo IT consultant who has been in IT since 1990. You work directly with William, not a call center.
Trusted by teams at AT&T, Chevron, Charles Schwab, AIG and 1-800-SOFTWARE during a career in contract IT. U.S. Army veteran · Certifications earned include Cisco CCNA and CompTIA Security+
How I Can Help
Managed IT Support
Ongoing care for your Windows and Mac computers, servers and software: updates, security patches, health checks and a person to call when something breaks. One local expert keeps your technology running so you can run your business, following ITIL service-management basics, which I've also taught.
Networking & Wi-Fi
Design, installation and troubleshooting for business networks: routers, firewalls, switches, cabling and Wi-Fi that reaches every corner of the office. Slow or dropping connections are fixed at the source. Your network is handled by a Cisco CCNA-trained consultant who has done large-scale deployments and network migrations for corporate clients.
Cybersecurity
Practical protection sized for a small business: firewall setup, antivirus and endpoint protection, secure remote access, multi-factor login, and plain-English staff tips for spotting phishing. You also get a security check-up that lists your real risks and what to fix first. I've earned CompTIA Security+ and taught the Security+ certification course, so staff training comes from someone who has taught this material.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
Automatic backups of your files, email and systems, stored on-site and in the cloud, and tested so you know they work. If a computer dies, gets stolen or is hit by ransomware, you have a plan to get back to work quickly.
On-Site Support
When it can't be fixed remotely, I come to you. That includes new computer and printer setup, office moves, network installs and hands-on troubleshooting anywhere in San Pablo, Richmond and the East Bay. I also do field IT work for national service providers, so on-site installs and break-fix are routine.

Meet William Browning
I'm William Browning, a U.S. Army veteran, and I've been in IT since 1990. For my entire career I've worked as an IT contractor and consultant, including technical support, network consulting, large-scale deployments and network migrations for organizations including AT&T, Chevron, Charles Schwab, AIG and 1-800-SOFTWARE. From 2012 to 2018 I taught IT certification courses, which made me better at explaining technology in plain English.
Most small businesses don't need a big IT firm. They need someone who knows what they're doing, answers the phone, and explains things in plain English. That's how I work. When you call Browning Technical Solutions, you get me: the same person who designs your network, fixes the problem and remembers your setup the next time. More about William

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you come on-site, or is everything remote?
Both. Many issues can be fixed quickly over a secure remote connection. For network installs, hardware problems and new equipment, I come to you anywhere in San Pablo, Richmond and the East Bay.
Will I be working with a team or with you directly?
With me directly. You'll have one point of contact who knows your systems.
Can you help us move to the cloud?
Yes. I handle the planning, the move of email and files, and the setup of users and devices, and I support your team afterward so the transition goes smoothly.
Are our backups really working?
Many businesses find out the answer only after something fails. I can review your current backups, test a restore, and set up automatic, monitored backups if you need them.
What should I do if I think we've been hacked or hit by ransomware?
Disconnect affected computers from the network (unplug the cable or turn off Wi-Fi), don't pay anything, and contact me right away through the Contact page.
How do I get started?
Request a free consultation. We'll talk through what's going on, and I'll recommend next steps. No pressure and no jargon.
